Summer time sadness!

5 months later......I'm just now writing a new post!  Having and raising a child is hard work!

As hot as this Texas summer has been,  I will miss it.  Well sort of.....not the heat, but the amazing journey that I've had the pleasure of experiencing.

My journey of being a first time mom/parent, getting to know this little human being that I'm responsible for, for the rest of his life.  We never knew how amazing and life changing this "LOVE" for this one child would be.

These past couple of weeks have been filled with new experiences, new skills learned, not only for our little boy but us as parents.   I see it more, since I am fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom.   Being able to watch this tiny little thing grow and become independent. Laugh at things, hold his bottle,  smile at mommy or daddy because he recognizes us, seeing his little personality bloom. It makes my heart smile!

He's been crawling for a couple of weeks now and getting into everything.  Trying to pull the cats tails, when he can get close enough to them.  He's been pulling himself up now.  Eating like a big boy in his high chair.  We are doing half pureed/mashed foods and half baby lead weaning. This has been fun and messy at times! He's been having slobberthons, for the past month, on occasion fussiness occurs but no teeth in sight.

His first word has been da-da! Hubby is happy.  I'm like hey...I see him 24/7 and all I get is ba-ba (bottle)! Lol, oh well I'm happy,  baby is happy that's what matters most.

So, my crafting has been put on the back burner for a while.  I have sewn some bibs, I sewed a mei-tai carrier for little one. Now that he's more on a schedule I can get back to sewing more.  I have tons of stuff that I want to get started on.

If you still read my blog thank you!  Hopefully I'll get a chance to post some more.

Here is my 7 month old!  We are deeply and madly in love with this Lil guy!  Chubby thighs, big attitude,  crazy hair and all!  They do grow up so quickly.....

I'm still here....

My life has completely changed!  I'm now a mommy to the most handsome 2 month old....well to me he is, lol!

I thought I would be able to post more, boy was I sadly mistaken.  I'm typing from my phone now, with the lil guy falling asleep in my arms.

Everything has been wonderful,  a little challenging but what an amazing experience these past couple of weeks have been. I love it. I can't wait to share more.... hopefully when the lil bug isn't so demanding,  lol! Who am I kidding,  I'm lucky if I get to eat or shower most days!

I hope everyone has a great great week!

Halloween Crafts 2013 - with the nieces and nephews!

WOO-HOO...... next week is Halloween!!

This is just a short post sharing some pictures from Halloween craft day 2013.  We had so much fun.....the kids are always entertaining.  I'm happy that next year we will have baby Vincent to share this experience with his cousins.

It was such a nice day out, I decided to do the crafts out on the patio.

Let the Halloween crafting begin...

This years pumpkin theme was "Swamp Thing"!  I'm glad I decided to do this craft outside...can you imagine the mess in the house.  It was so much fun seeing the kids get crafty with all the eyes and giving their creations hair cuts.  Silly kids! Baby Vincent got his very own swamp thing pumpkin too!!

We also made mummy lanterns. Even made one for baby.  His is the 1st one with the googly eyes.

We or should I say my sisters were in charge of making the yummy Mummies, I'm in charge of adding the eyes!!  Well someone wasn't keeping time....we'll just blame my brother for that one.  They were still delish because there were none leftover.

Here are the kiddos inside, hands washed, shirts off....why, I have no idea, lol!  But they were all excited and ready to make their own pizzas.

Awesome afternoon with the people I love!

Words and Pictures Wednesday!

Well September was here and now it's on its way out!! That is fine with me......since on Sunday we were able to say hello to wonderful FALL!!  We had the most beautiful day.

Last week theHubs and I were on vacation. We didn't go out of state, since we already took a vacation to New Orleans earlier this year.  So we did a lot of local stuff.  Which was fine with me, I can only walk so much at the moment.  I'm a big walker....but this baby thinks it's fun to lay really low in my tummy. OUCH!

One of the days we drove out to Galveston!!  It was very relaxing...the only complaint I have is the new parking system now.  You have to pay to park at the seawall!!  First you call the 1-800 number, then confusingly enter your license plate number,  enter the special location code, then you have to use a cc or bank card to pay.  Why don't they just install the electronic parking meters?  After a frustrating 15 minutes of dealing with the phone....looked up the web page and downloaded the app., much easier than the phone number....but you have to enter the same things....plates, code, and cc number.  Oh well, we finally figured it out and got it done.   Then we enjoyed the day.

We relaxed at Murdochs......ocean views, nice breeze, rocking chairs and if you wanted to get a drink they sold some inside.  Murdochs is like a gift shop - lots of stuff to buy: shells, shirts, trinkets, postcards, drinks and more.

After relaxing we walked over to the Pleasure Pier.  It's closed during the week, that was fine.  Like I was going to get on any of the rides.  We had dinner at the Bubba Gump restaurant... we've eaten at the one in NYC and the one at Universal Studios in CA.  The food was yummy!

After dinner we walked off some calories on the beach.  Here is Mommy, Daddy and baby Belly with our toes in the sand!  I'm starting to not see my feet anymore  (*_*)

I'm baaaaaack..... kind of!!

Well, well, well......seems like forever since I've been on here.  I know my last post mentioned I was taking a small break and working on some stuff.  I promise you I was!

One of the projects I was working on was my very own personal project......

Growing my very own little baby!!

These past couple of weeks have been a non-stop exhaustion, eating at all hours of the night, drinking lots of water, and peeing about 100 times a night! But I know it will all be worth it.

We are extremely excited and can't wait to meet him or her.  Of course I want a girl and theHubs wants a boy.  I have a feeling I'm having a boy, but I had a dream the other night that the doctor told me I was having a girl.  Either way we are beyond happy to be starting our family.

After we find out the gender I will sew more for baby.  I'm ready to start on those projects.  Time is moving too fast.  Before we know it, it will be January and the baby will be here.

I hope to be getting my energy back soon, it's sad how tired I am.  Honestly I'm just too tired to think straight much less post on the blog or even Facebook.  One thing I have been doing is playing the devil of a game Candy Crush.  It has been there on those sleepless nights when I just can't seem to sleep.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far.  I hope to do more posts this weekend.

TTFN.....

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to......

Well, today is my birthday!!  I feel like I just celebrated it last week.  I can't believe it's been a whole year already.

Here I am.....lil ole me!!  Honestly how old do I look to you?

I look 21 huh.....if only that were true, lol!

Is it me or what, but as I age I feel like I have no patience,  I get annoyed easily,  I get grumpy when I don't have my Sunday afternoon nap.  I forget everything - the Hubs says because my head is already full with too much information.  He's so sweet.

I just want to say that I am so thankful to be here and that I am able to share this day with my friends and family.  I'm thankful for the sweetest hubby in the whole wide world.  I tell him that he's lucky because I don't ask for much, even though he would gladly fulfill my every want.  This year for my birthday all I "want" are 5 things:

1.  A bicycle - yup I've been wanting a bike for a while!

2.  A darning foot for my sewing machine - I have quilts that I want to finish up with some fancy designs.

3.  Amazon gift card - $25 bucks should do it! I like to buy books for my kindle fire and since I'm a cheap-o queen I like to buy the books that are 99 cents.

4.  Since I have class tonight, I want to have a dinner date on Friday at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

and.....

5.  A crawfish boil with my friends and family this weekend. YUMMMMMM!

See....not too much right?

We'll see what happens!

Happy Valentine's Day!

These are my all time favorite "love" quotes!
They're the same ones from last year and the year before that and so on....why would I want to change them.

"It is a curious thought, but it is only when you see people looking ridiculous that you realize just how much you love them."
~Agatha Christie

"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever."
~Alfred Lord Tennyson

"Love makes the wildest spirit tame, and the tamest spirit wild."
~Alexis Delp

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart."
~Helen Keller

"I love you, not only for what you are, But for what I am when I am with you."
~Roy Croft

"Love reminds you that nothing else matters."
~Amy Bushell

"I don’t wish to be everything to everyone, but I would like to be something to someone."
~Javan

I want to wish everyone a lovely day, filled with sweet gifts and gestures of love.

Handmade Valentine's Day Card

Whoa...next week is Valentine's Day! Really, didn't we just leave January.
For me February is filled with lots of special days not only V-day but B-day's...which includes mine as well.  I won't go into much detail about my b-day, that will be for another ranting post about how I'm getting old, all the grey hair I have, the wrinkles that pop up out of nowhere, my grumpiness, my forgetfulness....okay I'm going off track here.

This post is about a super duper easy handmade Valentine's Day card.  If you're a crafterista like myself you will definitely have everything that is needed in your stash of craft supplies.

Card stock
Letter Stamps/Ink
Scrap fabric
Thread
Sewing Machine

Honestly, look how easy it was to make.  I stamped what I wanted it to say.  I cut hearts out of the fabric.  Then sewed them on.  You could even hand stitch it.

I love my hubby and loving him "IS" the best feeling in the world!

Sorry peeps!!  This is the only V-Day project that I had to post.   I hope you like it!

Everyone have a fabulous day.

I married the man of my dreams on this day!

Almost 12 years ago on a Monday you asked me for my phone number. It took you about a week to call me.  When you did you asked me out on a date.  I can still remember what you wore and where we went.  We've been with each other ever since.

8 years ago we had a evening picnic at our favorite spot, then went for a stroll near the Waterwall.  I remember I didn't want to go near the water because the mist would make my hair frizz up....but you convinced me and we went anyway.  Between the bench and the Waterwall you bent on one knee and asked me to marry you and I happily said YES...we cried, laughed and hugged each other.  I was the happiest person in town.

7 years ago today we both said our vows in front of God, our family and friends.  I thought I was the happiest when you proposed but the day we said "I DO" that's the day you made me the Happiest women in this whole wide world.  I'm still the happiest woman today.

I love you more than ever, you were and still are the man of my dreams!  Looking forward to many, many more years with you!

You're still the Color to my World
The Sunshine in my Life
and The Love in my Heart!

Summer vacation is over....

Why do the weekends go by so quickly? Because time sure does fly when you're having fun that's why, lol.   This was the last free weekend for everyone here in Houston.  School starts Monday....so does the crazy traffic, the getting caught behind school buses, and the waking up super early to avoid all of this.  I myself will start my evening classes on Tuesday...yay!!  So, for everyone that starts school tomorrow good luck and have a fantastic semester.

Now for this weeks project.  My next project will probably be in two weeks, just till I get situated with my class schedule.

I'm showing off a new tote that I made for my niece Aubrey.  It was for her second birthday.  I really enjoy sewing and making thing for my loved ones and for myself.

Red on the inside.

For this tote bag I sewed a double pocket on the outside for some extra storage.

If you make it, then tag it.  My tag "Fifi Made This"

Okay are you ready to be attacked with cuteness.....really how can you not love this.  I made this as the special little add-on for the tote.

After about 7 different variations, I really liked the way I drew this little elephant.  I then traced on felt and sewed on the extra little pieces.  Then I drew the letter "A"  for her name and made it too.  Cute huh!  Her birthday theme was "Circus".

This has to be my favorite tote that I have made so far.

Until next time!  Thanks for stopping by.

Pictures and Words Wednesday 6/20 - Stella and Ms. Betty (furbabies)

It's been a while since I posted anything about my fur-babies!!  Here they are living the life!!  Eating and sleeping all day saving up their energy to run up and down the stairs at all hours of the night.....sigh!  Really, they sound like horses galloping up and down, lol.  I know they jump on the counters and the tables when we're asleep, then act all nice and lazy when we're awake.

Who are they fooling?  Nope, not I!

Here is Ms. Betty, she acts all tough and bossy like she's running the show.  But she's just a big baby, literally.  Bring on the thunder and she's at your feet, hiding between the drapes, has her head under the sofa, or sneaking into the pantry like you see in the picture below.  This was yesterday with all the thunder going on yesterday.  I think I need to take her to go see the movie BRAVE.....lol!!  Well this is Ms. Betty and in the next couple of days she's getting her summer hair cut. She's going to transform into Mrs. Bigglesworth.  This kitty is all fur, she looks big but she's really a tiny thing.

This is my sweet  Stella!  She's more laid back, I truly believe she's the boss when it comes to both cats.   Both cats are not lap cats, but Stella can be very loving.  She follows me everywhere I go.  She doesn't have to be next to me but in the same room.  Here she is in the craft room, watching me sew.  She's a big momma, at almost 20lbs.  She gets a trim too, but since she's already a short haired cat you really can't see a difference.

These are the hags that live with us.  I call them hags because in cat years they are older than me, lol!!

Okay, everyone have a great Wednesday!  See you soon.

New Summer Tote Bag!

It feels like Summer is already here in Texas.   We've had some days in the 90s, thank goodness there has been a breeze on the days we've had to be outdoors.  I probably would have melted, lol!  One of those breezy days was on Saturday.  It was for my niece's daughters 1st birthday.....so I guess that would make her my great niece....wow that made me feel old.   I can't be a great anything at 32..... (*_*).

I love making things for people....especially my family and especially for sweet baby girls that turn one!!  Once they're one I feel like they need a new bag instead of a big ole bulky diaper bag.  Plus this bag is big and deep enough to carry diapers and wipes and whatever mom needs to carry.

This bag was one of my favorites to make.  I love the green and pink colors.

I'm not going into too much detail about how it was made.....check out my tote bag tutorial if you'd like.

Pockets sewn on, straps ready to be put on.

I always add a extra little some to the bag.  So I made this cute little stuffed "K" for her name.

See...cute huh!

Love, Love, Love it!!

Here's the inside!

Now, since it was for her birthday the gift of the tote bag doubled as a gift bag.....everyone loved it!  Here it is filled with her gifts - clothes, a stuffed animal and a lady bug.   Ladybug is her nickname and that was the theme of the party.  I am a rebel when it comes to themes or registries....I hate them and I will give what I want.  So if they don't like it...oh well take it back...that's just me! (",)  But since I was in a good mood, I added the little lady bug, plus it was cute.

Here it is ready to be given away to the birthday girl!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my weekly project!

Have a great week everyone.

Wednesday Family Showcase.... #5

This week I'm introducing

Aiden

He is my brothers son. He recently turned (3) in December.  Aiden has two sisters Anne-Marie who just turned (2) on February 12th, and Aubrey Rose who is (1½).  He loves his sisters very much.

These are pictures from his 3rd Birthday that I was able to take.

He was eating all the candy he could... because he knew his dad would normally not allow him to eat this much.

Aiden loves Spiderman as you can see from his birthday pics.  He loves to take pictures, then will ask you to let him see it!  Aiden can sing you his ABC's and he can probably work my phone better than I can.  He enjoys playing with his cousins.  He likes to say words like Awwwesoooommmeee and Niiiiiccceee....and always adds that extra emphasis to the words. lol! He's a pretty great kid, but don't try to wake him up from his naps, talk about Mr. Grumpy Pants.

Thanks for stopping by and getting to know my family.
