Friday Finds!

Good Morning everyone!  Just thought I'd share my FridayFinds for the last Friday in September!  I got some great stuff on my trip to Target!!  I still have many more hours of searching to go, so who knows what else I will find today!

Look at my pile of goodies!

Here are some sheer panels for my craft room.  There were 14.99 and I got them for 3.54.

New lamp and dry erase board for my craft room.
The lamp was 9.99 and I only paid  2.99 for it.
 I only paid 2.50 for the dry erase board.

Here are some candles and a  king size bed set for my bedroom.  The candles were  12.99 and 6.99 I only paid  2.39 and 1.75 for them.  The bed set was 39.99 and I only paid 9.99 for it!!  This hot pink really doesn't go with my bed room but, 10 bucks for any king size sheet set is a deal!! -Score!!

Clothes.....who doesn't like clothes?  I'm not gonna go  into much detail but each item
was less than 7 bucks.  I got  2 nice tops to wear now, 1 hoodie to wear when I go jogging,
see that zebra looking fabric - well it's turning into a infinity scarf and last but not least,
the blue thing at the right end of  the pic.  This is a dress and it was only 1.97 so I bought four!!
 Can you say "RE-FASHIONING"

I put up my dry erase board and put it to work!
here's what I wrote:

1. Finish my craft room
2. Buy a new dry-erase marker
3. Hang up my new curtains ☺
4. Think about stuff to make
5. Finish Christmas Gifts!!!
6. Label everything in here 
7. Get Enough Sleep!! ☺ 

 (How is #7 possible when I craft and create at night?) lol!

Well I hope that everyone enjoys their weekend!! Make sure you get all your Fall decor up...I know I will!

Any whoooo......

I'm really excited for it, I like to see all the hype when the 1st "whatever" comes to Houston! 

 In my opinion they should have built the 1st one in the Galleria Area.  They have everything else there and it would be in the up-town part of the city.  Nope, it's in the Baybrook (ClearLake/Webster) area allllllll the way on the other side of Texas, geez! Okay not really, Baybrook is south of Houston heading down to Galveston basically. It is really pretty there, don't get me wrong! It's just I'm a little miffed because I would have to drive over an hour to have it (you know with Houston traffic).  

Oh well....

at least my side of town got the 1st Carl's Jr., Yeah buddy!! 

*sidenote - i have yet to go to it, lol!! I have been to the ones in Cali.




I guess I'll just be happy with my Cheesecake with pecans waffle cone from our local "slab of the marble", (yes, that's what I call it) or the most delish Chocolate w/ peanut butter swirls from Baskin!!  YUMMY!


Okay, I just made myself hungry!!

Friday Fashion Redo!!

I found this top at a garage sale for .50¢, how could I pass that up?  If you know me, then you know I "NEVER" buy clothes at garage sales....even hubby was shocked, lol! Not because I think I'm too good or something...it's just I always go with a mission - Christmas, Frames, Fabric, Furniture, planting pots...I know weird huh!!  So I just never focus on clothes.  But my favorite color is yellow and it caught my eye.

How cute is this!!  I even made a rosette pin to wear. I'll post about  that later.
 I  wore this top with a black cardigan and pinned the pin onto the cardigan.  It looked super cute!!
I thought about  putting rosettes of the top but figure I would make the pin instead.  I can change it up.

Well here is my Friday Fashion Redo, enjoy!

here is the plane jane before pic.

The front and back hem had two small little holes, you know the ones where you 're always stretching and adjusting your top.  So I  cut off 3 lines off, which was about 2 1/2 inches. I used this to make my ruffles and a rosette for my pin.

I then stitched up the hem.  I didn't do a folded hem because 1. I didn't feel like ironing and 2. it was 2 in the morning.  

Here is what it looks like.  It gave it a flowing effect at the hem  which is cute.

This is this stitch I used.....don't know what it's called but I used it.

I ran my cut strip through to do a center stitch, then pulled on the top thread  to give it a ruffle.

Pinned my ruffle to the top.

I just folded the piece over where the shoulder strap started.  Then I just sewed.
I also added a back stitch here and at the bottom where I stopped.

I did this to both side.

Since the chest part was too wide and I didn't want a wardrobe malfunction
(i.e. nip slip,  booby bounce, knocker-out) lol!!   I sewed the two sides together.

See...doesn't it look much prettier?

Ugh.....then I notice this!!  Some how my white thread got dirty!!  Super annoyed, but too tired to do anything about it.
 That is why I made the rosette pin, so I could try and cover it.  But wearing the top you don't even notice the thread

Happy 1st Day of Fall.....

I'm soooo excited!!  This is my favorite season of the year. 

why you ask.....well:

1. My 6th wedding anniversary is in November
2. Duh....Halloween is next month!
3. I can start taking out all my Christmas decor and getting it ready to put out...I have to pre-fluff my Christmas trees.  I have 1 downstairs  and 1 for upstairs.
4. A even bigger Duh....Christmas is in 3 months!!  and I'm almost done with my Christmas gifts.  Are you?
5. It gets chillier and colder and I can make my soups and stews and all that warm yummy goodness!
6. I can wrap my lil Munchkin self with my big ole scarves.....I'm obsessed!
7. This list can go on forever....so I think I'll stop here, lol!

Tasty Tuesdays.....

Who watches Diners, Drive-In's & Dives?  My hubby watches it religiously, even the reruns!!  Which is fine since I love the show.  We've visited most of the featured restaurants in Houston and surrounding areas and love all of them.....


One of our favorites is T-Bone Toms in Kemah, Texas.  When we visited I ordered "the Pig", which is a pulled pork sandwich.   I must say it's one of the tastiest pulled pork sandwiches that I've ever eaten.

The Pig!!  I felt like a pig after eating all of it!!

Sorry!!  I had already eaten half the sandwich before I remembered to take the picture!! It was yuh-uh-my! The sauce was delish and the potato-salad was great.

We also ordered a appetizer which were called Armadillo Eggs!! I kept calling them Armadillo balls, oopsie!! lol!!  These were really tasty as well!!  The breading is filled with chopped brisket and jalapeno with a side of ranch for dipping.  I'm not a jalapeno kind of gal, so I took it out as you can see in the pic.

This is my Pinterest Board! ☺

Slowly but surely I've been working on my craft room!! I'm about half way done with everything......which is good because I'm kind of getting burned out with the project, lol!!!  I have to many ideas of how I want it to look, but then I'll see something else that inspires me.....so there goes my ideas.  With that in mind I decided to make myself a big ole' idea board!! <---My Pin-it Board! I can print out ideas and pin them to the board, color swatches, sketches or anything that interests me or gives me an idea.

Here is how I made mine, you can make yours how ever you want.

I love it! The dimensions are 36 x 32 inches!

Here is what I used:

Cardboard

Wall screws

Hole punch tool

Fabric

Ribbon

Tape

Scissors

I used some scrap cardboard that I was able to get from my job.  

Using the masking tape I put the pieces of cardboard together , then added the strapping  tape over that seam.

Then I taped all the seams again, and added more tape across the entire  piece for more support.

Here are all the pieces taped together.  It's 6 small pieces taped to make this big piece.  I made (2) of the big pieces and alinged and taped them together to make the board thick.  Also the pins or tacks won't go through to the wall.

Here is the fabric I chose.   It was pack to make jammie pants, but I knew I wanted it for something else.
(bonus: I get a pattern to make jammie pants.) 

Here I arranged it on the floor, because my table wasn't big enough for it.

I set the cardboard down to see if it would be enough fabric witdth  wise.
Perfect.....so I just cut where I knew there was enough to fold down 2-3 inches.

Gave it a quick press, to take out all of the fold lines.

Now, it fit on the table.  I arranged the fabric with the cardboard on top, now I'm ready to tape!

I just taped down along the sides and then I folded and taped down the edges like so.

Flipped it over to check out my work!

Using the hole punch tool (I'm not even sure that's what it's called, lol)  I measured and punched a hole through.
I ended up punching (8) holes.  The extra holes were for the wall screws.

Here is the ribbon that I had, I'm glad it matched.

Here I used the hole punch tool to push the edge of the fabric through the hole, just enough to where I could pull it through.  I inserted the ribbon from the back to come out of the front.

Pulling out about 4 inches on both sides, I just made a knot to secure it .

With the knot in place I made a little rosette and  just pinned it  through.
Just in case I want to change the ribbon or  take it off completely.

Once the ribbon was secured I hung it on the wall from the top with the  ribbon.  
Then I secured the sides and bottom with the wall screws.
