Packed away and out in a couple of months!

I've totally been a slacker these past couple of months.  Not just on the blog but in my home.  I usually am on top of things when it comes to the Holiday decor and I have always had the tradition of putting away all the Christmas stuff on New Years day....nope not this year.  See, I have been in a funk!  My crafty bug has not been very creative, well I shouldn't say "not" creative...I have just been to busy.  I actually went almost 2 weeks without stepping a foot into the craft room.  EEK!! LOL!!  I'm making a change though.  No resolutions here - just changes.  This past weekend I started up on some new projects and Monday night/morning I packed up alllllll the Christmas that was in my home.  Tuesday after work I took all of it upstairs to put away. Yay for me!

Here is my Christmas tree, I had already started removing stuff from the bottom.

I sure do have a lot of stuff that goes into the tree.

Well Christmas is officially put away....."see you in a couple of months".  Last Christmas post I promise.

I hope everyone has had a great week so far.

Two Bite Pecan Tarts

Okay, so they totally lied about the two bite part.  I can totally do it in one, lol!!   Wow, did I just admit to that, yes I did.  Hey it's the Holiday season and I'm gonna stuff my face till Jan. 2nd. then get on the band wagon of dieters for the first two weeks of the new year.  What....it's the truth, so why lie!

They sell these at Kroger and I wish they didn't!  These little tarts are the "DEVIL".  Without shame in my heart I will admit that they are alllllllll gone in less than 24 hours.  Oh no...not just lil ole Fifi, but with the help of theHubs.  I'm not big on any pie crust...so I'm usually the one who just leaves the crust triangle on the plate at holiday parties. But these are '"super Yummy" and I will definitely eat the crust on these tarts or devils! (^.^)

Like I said they are sold at Kroger, there are 16 to the pack and they sell for less that 6 bucks.  Sadly the cashier warned me about how good these were....I thought to myself,  Meh!! I have totally will power. LoL!! Luckily we only go grocery shopping every two weeks.  So we've only had 2 packs this month.

Hope everyone is having a great week.  I am busy with a school project and studying, finals are the week of Dec. 10th....which will be here before you know it!!

Can you see it.... Can you feel it.... Can you smell it....

What am I talking about you ask - only the most glorious season of the year...

Fall

Source
Technically it's still about 3 or 4 weeks away, but who cares I will still say it's Fall after Labor day!

I can feel the change coming, the nights have a slight cooler breeze.  It's getting darker a tad bit earlier than it was last week.  We could go almost to 8:45 and still have light out.  Now, it's 8:30 and the sun is set.

We'll be able to buy pomegranates from the market, yummy! I can also see the pecans on the trees, before you know they will be falling and ready for the picking. Soon pumpkins will start to appear.  I can go into Bed Bath & Beyond just to smell all the cinnamon scented pine cones and candles (yes, I do that). Baking treats is my absolute favorite thing to do....(squeal) ← can you tell I'm excited, lol!

Halloween and Thanksgiving decor is out.....Even Christmas is out.  Well in Hobby Lobby it is, they start putting it out in mid-July.  Crazy right, but they have a lot of space to set up. So I can understand.  I took out my Christmas tree's too, they have to be pre-fluffed. What...you don't pre-fluff the branches?  I know, I'm crazy but this is my favorite time of the year....I'm always super busy, I have classes at night, and my weekends are jam packed with errands, so  I start early.

Between the studying and catching up on some movies with theHubs this weekend.  I will be trying my hand at baking.... breads, biscuits, rolls.  We'll see how that turns out.  I know it's still a little warm out, but I 'm so ready to start the Holiday cooking and baking. *\(",)/*

Mondays!!

We all have them.....
some have bad ones, some have good ones.

This Monday is not bad. But I'm excited about NEXT Monday!!
Why......
Oh it's my Birthday!! Yay!!

it's my birthday, it's my birthday....we're gonna party like it's my birthday!!!

Since Valentines day and my birthday are only six days apart.... I don't ask for anything fancy, I don't demand 2 gifts, I'm not picky - most of the time, I don't need to be lavished with diamonds - I already have them. I don't go bonkers because I didn't get flowers, or the giant bear that is bigger than my lil ole 5'1-5'2 self....<---man, I'm short! lol!

Fifi made this*!
Why do they make bears this big anyways? lol!!

I've never been one to want expensive things or dinners at big restaurants.  The hubs spoils me all year round, I have every thing I need and most things that I want. I'm happy with a card and chocolates. I just don't understand people going broke for holidays or birthdays.

Whatever you do I hope it makes you HAPPY!

Valentines day will be Chinese take-out and movies for us!  and a Weekend get away for my birthday!  With a spa day thrown in the mix!  Massage, mani, pedi, facial, lunch!!  I love this particular spa,  they are sooooo nice and all the girls always do a great job with whatever they're doing.  I can't wait.

Happy Early Valentines Day to everyone!!

Guess what I did last night?

Besides burning my finger tips off.  Yup, I made more Pebbles Pics.
Well this batch was made with different Christmas pics.

Again, this is not really a tutorial since I didn't take any pics of the how-to part.  But they are super easy to make and make great little gifts.

Here's what was used:
glue gun/glue sticks
glass pebbles from $ store
scissor/blade
magnets
Christmas pics

Once you decide on the pics you will use,  apply glue to the flat side of the pebble and press firmly on to the pic until all the air bubbles reach the end.  Then let the glue cool, now you are ready to cut the excess glue and paper off. (Adults should do this part if you decide to make this with kids.) Since I use the magnet tape, I just cut off a piece and remove the backing and stick onto the pebble pic.

These pics are from a Holiday scrapbook magazine.

These are ornament pics from the Target catalog.

These pics are from different Christmas wrapping paper I have.

These pics are from old Pottery Barn Holiday catalogs.

Random pics from a holiday magazine.

cute huh!!

Well I hope you liked my Christmas Pebble.

Christmas, Christmas time is here!!

I know you were just singing the title....lol!
I love that song!

Are you ready for Christmas?  I am soooo ready.  I totally ♥ the holiday season.  Can you believe that  there are only 26 more days till Christmas? What makes it even more Christmas-y (yeah I added a "y") is we finally got the chilly weather....32º this morning wooo-hooo!! Now if it would only snow. Highly unlikely...booo.

The house is pretty much decorated, I'm just adding all the finishing touches!!  Here is our Christmas Tree, up and festive and patiently waiting for the gifts. Which will not be put under the tree because of 2 certain nosey, no rule following, sneaky felines -
Stella and Ms. Betty! bad kitties (",)

Christmas Tree 2011

I've only had one problem while putting up decorations.  Being the impatient patient person that I am, I wanted to hurry and put the lights out before it rained on Saturday.  We have a string of lights that's like an extra we use for its light bulbs and it's always put at the end where I really don't  have to have lights on. It works out perfect because I can just tuck the unused non working lights  behind one of the plants near the plug.  Well it rained and I never put in bulbs in the 3 of the empty sockets. I didn't even think of it.  Saturday evening after all the rain was done with I plugged them in and they were on, no biggie...well when I went to unplug them for the night, they were off. I have no idea when they went off.  Let just say I had to change out that string of lights!! Boo!!! No fun at all!   I started to swap out the lights for one of the new boxes that I bought.  I'm so glad I decided to start changing the non-working lights at the next string, not where they were plugged in and nicely hidden, because when I got to the end of the string I was short about 6 feet of string from where they were plugged in - since my favorite store in the whole wide world - Hobby Lobby decided to change the C-9 lights from HL brand to the GE brand and jack up the price to 9.99 -Thank you!! Same amount of bulbs, just set closer together....eek!  So I had to rig up another extension cord!! Very frustrating!! And it's orange, no way to hide that, I'm gonna have to go and buy another green cord.  So instead of 3 string of lights now I have to use  5 string of lights to do the one side!! ugh!!!!!!!  Do I sound whiny??  That's fine!!  It was just annoying!! But it's done, so now I can enjoy my lights till the New Year!

What was one disastrous episode you've had with the Christmas Tree or while decorating !!

Hmm... I have so many stories but my favorite would have to be when I was 6.  We lived 3 houses down from my grandmother, we were having dinner and daddy told me to run to the house and plug in the Christmas tree lights.  Shouldn't take me more than 5 minutes.    So I ran home and got on my belly to crawl on the side of the tree, well I guess I was a little to close because I bumped it and it came toppling over on top of me....yup it was insane. Well this was a monstrous tree, it was heavy and completely full of lights, tinsel, glass ornaments, you name it it was in the tree! Well good thing my dad wasn't too far behind, I would have been there a while, if he hadn't of thought it would of probably been hard for me to get to the plug.  Sadly every things was broken!!  I was okay, just a little scraped up from the tree needles.  But we went out the next day and bought more ornaments and I was never allowed to touch the plug ever again. I didn't either...it wasn't till I was 19 and I was moved out on my own.

Ahem......to all the Twi-lighters, Twi-Hards, Twi-Moms, Twi-Teens, Twi-Men or whatever you are, while you're waiting your many hours in line with your friends, snacks,  twilight shirts, posters, or other.  I will be nice and toasty in my bed asleep.  I can wait till next week to watch it.  I want to enjoy the movie and not hear girls/ moms scream when Jacob Black takes his shirt off, or die hard fans snicker that this scene was not how it was in the book. For goodness sake, it's a movie! While I enjoyed the books and the movies, I'm not dreaming of becoming a vampire or being imprinted on by a wolf. So, with that being said.  Enjoy the movie and don't worry about spoiling it for me, I already know how it ends. LOL!   I personally think it's a waste to buy t-shirts, dolls or what ever else is out there.  I pay to watch the movie and I pay to buy the movie when it comes outs.  That's all they're getting from me. Yes, I admit I'm team Edward!!
8^€   (lol, like my Vampire Edward)

Okay, I totally think Bradley Cooper is a hottie and it's fine that People magazine named him Sexiest Man. That's awesome, but my only complaint is the pic they used for the cover.....WHAT!!!! There are sooooooo many other pics that are waaaaaaaayyy sexier than that!!  Very disappointed with the pic......No wonder people are upset, he doesn't look that great.  So, I've posted a pic of him that I like!!  And I like his hair long!! YUMMY!

Have you heard!! There's a on-line boycott to remove the Kardashian's from TV! If you would like to sign the petition go here , since my last visit there are now 114,967 signatures.  It's insane! I did watch the first season of Keeping up with the Kardashians, but then there were all the other spin-offs, they take Miami, then NYC!!  To many of them is too much.  I did enjoy Khloe and Lamar's show, (1) gal I can handle.   They're people just like us, well kind of,  Not all of us have Famous sex tapes, married to basket ball stars, have perfume/clothing lines, Olympic gold medalist as a step-dad, a brother on Dancing with the stars, Modeling little sisters, one of them who turned 16 and got a 2012 black RangeRover, a crazy Momager, a douche of a baby daddy aka Scott in the family (okay who doesn't have that)....see we're just like them. <sarcasm>

What is your opinion on it.

Well I hope that everyone enjoys their Holiday next week.  I will not be on-line, I need a vacation from the net.  When I get back I will be posting some new items that I've been making.  Have a awesome day!

Mini Jeweled Frame - gifts

Can you believe that Christmas is two months away?  This year has just flown by.

I love to make ornaments for my Christmas trees or make to give as gifts.

I thought I'd share this easy gift giving mini frame.

Here is what was used:
Jewels
Paper craft frames - mini
Jumbo craft marker - white
glue gun

Creating something cute with 4 simple items.

I love these little jewels, and yes that is a medicine bottle!
That's where  I store all of the small  embellishments .
I know I'm not the only one to do this. Right?

I painted the top of the frame and the sides.

Easy peasy!! Then I let it dry. It took about 3 minutes.

This was the hard part. Trying to get all the pieces to fit.
I had to work at it for a bit, it was like a puzzle!
After I figured it out then I just hot glued the jewels down.

So it went from BLAH to WOW!!
These little frames are too cute, you can hang them, add a magnet or put them on  mini frame holders.
Add a pic or a scene of your choosing, it doesn't even have to be Holiday themed.
You can make these when ever you like and give them away.

I added this little Winter scene.  Cute....right?

Halloween Yarn Wreath

Hello to every one!!  I hope your are enjoying the cooler weather....I know I am!
I really missed it.  Can you believe it's October already!  Before you know it, it's time to be passing out candy or any other goodies you pass out for this time of year!!

Happy Halloween

Today I will share my Fall Yarn Wreath, with the Halloween decor.  Since I just love Fall and I found this beautiful Paprika colored yarn on one of my FridayFinds, I used it for this wreath.  I then made the decorations to attach to the wreath instead of gluing everything on. This way when Halloween is done I can take it off and then attach the Thanksgiving/Harvest decoration.
Easy--Peasy!!

Since I'm a cheapo queen, I refused to by a Styrofoam wreath! Even with a coupon.
I was able to find some swimming noodles at the $ store. So I just cut about 3 inches off then taped it together.

Here I was at the home stretch.....after about 1 billion wraps I was done.  I'm glad because my yarn was starting to lose the neat yarn ball shape.  When I was done I secured the last wrap with a small dot from the gluegun.
Let's just say it was a big mess after I was done, the yarn kind of rolled off of the ironing board and just got worse. LOL!

I couldn't decide what exactly I wanted to do, so I just took everything I thought I would use out.

After deciding what I wanted (burlap rosettes, crow, moss and Halloween sign).
Took out a piece of felt that I would be gluing my decor to.

I rolled out my rosettes and glued a flat piece of backing, so they would glue down easier on the felt.

I should of done this before gluing anything to the felt....oopsies!!
But, I was in a rush and doing multiple things at one time so it was missed.
I glued two chenille pipes to the felt, then glued a strip of felt over the pipe.

I glued on the crow and now this is ready to go on the wreath.

I just twisted and folded them up.

Here is my Halloween sign.  I just glued the letters in a arc and it's ready to be tied to the wreath too!!!

I added a little moss and spiders and I'm done!!  I feel less is more!  Doesn't it look great!!

I hope you enjoyed my pics!

With stuff that I had and stuff I needed to buy, this wreath cost me less than $10.00 to make!

Great weekend and being Featured!

Hello to everyone!!! Hope that you have enjoyed your Labor Day!!  The official last day of summer, bummer!! lol!!   I've enjoyed my 3-day weekend and now ready for the new work week.  Not really!

The weather has been fantastic, no rain though - but the wind has been crazy and not helping with all of the fires that are going on here in Texas.  Also everyone that was hit by Lee.... Keeping them all in my thought and prayers.

Can't wait to feel that cool breeze tomorrow morning when I open the front door!!  The news forecast says it will be 62 in the morning, brrrrr..... and a high of 90!!  Yee-haw!!  <----that's the Texan in me...lol!! ☺  I haven't felt anything in the 60's since late March early April....so, yes I'm very excited!! I think I'll pull out the big coats....haha not really!

Well much thanks to my fellow bloggers......My tea-light project is being featured! ☺ Go check it out and link up your own projects!

Well I'll write more tomorrow....everyone have a good night!

The Cure - Friday Im In Love

I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday!!! You all have a safe and wonderful Holi-weekend!! ☺

I want the cooler weather......NOW!!!!

Can I just say I the FALL weather!!!   Who doesn't??  and with the horrendous heat that we've been having here in Houston....I can't wait for that last week in September.  I open my front door and can feel that Awesome cool breeze...letting you know that something amazing is around the corner!!  That's usually when it happens for us!!

I love the tree's when their leaves start to change colors, the reds, yellows and oranges are amazing!!  Even though we don't have many trees around here that change it's beautiful when you see one!!  That's why we planted a Bradford Pear tree in the backyard!  I love it....and I get all giddy when it starts to change!!

I love decorating too......inside I usually do Fall items with a hint of Halloween!!  We don't have kids but I always do Halloween crafts with my nephews and nieces..."they want to see Halloween" around my home!  Then after Halloween I pluck the Halloweeny stuff up and keep the Fall stuff up. Then I wait till about a week before Thanksgiving, put all that stuff away and out comes the Christmas stuff!!  If I host Thanksgiving, then I'll wait and put Christmas stuff up that Black Friday!!!  That's only if I host....if not, its up a week before and I can shop to my hearts content on BF!!! ☺

This is my season....."Fallowwingmas", its my season and Holidays combined....lol!!

And I absolutely love going to Bed Bath and Beyond during the Holiday's!!  Not only for the shopping, but I love the Holiday scents in the air....the candles, pine cones, cinnamon!!  I know I'm weird!

So, my question to you is:

What do you like about the Fall and when do you start to decorate?

Can't wait to see some responses, everyone have a great Monday afternoon!!
